THE COLOUR OF LIFE

THE COLOUR OF LIFE ... YOUR LIFE

This page offers you a kind of game to play.  The game is all about giving you some colourful tools to have at you r fingertips that those I work with have found really helpful.

If I were to ask you to PAUSE for a moment and to feel with the whole of your being into what colour you would paint your day, I wonder what your reply would be.

Your curiosity could easily lead you to “Google” all about the meanings, the psychology and history of colour. Indeed this website that explores these aspects but you don;t need that here!

Each of us has an experience of colour built up from our lifetime’s experiences and our contact and interaction with light. We are AWARE, INSTINCTIVELY, how a particular colour, its tones and shades, make us FEEL.

So lets’s try that RIGHT NOW, bringing curiosity to your experience.

PAUSE and take a DEEP BREATH

Now let your mind travel back to your childhood for a moment.

What sense of colour do you feel now?  It doesn’t matter if you cannot sense a particular colour. Notice if you get a sense of it … or may be an event in your childhood.

Our physical visual and tactile experiences influence our sense of colour but then so does our emotional touch .. our reactivity to an event, a person, an experience.

Try that too … sensing into how you colour a feeling of ANGER, or even LAUGHTER!  And what about LOVE?

May be there will be an array of different colours enter your awareness.  That often pops up when we focus on love.

Now pause again for a moment!

When you bring your attention to an experience or emotion, an event or relationship  you may  (or may not!) get a sense of a colour (or colours).  That sense of a colour, may well emerge from a memory but sometimes it just bubbles up from nowhere.  But it’s there in just a moment …in a thought …in a feeling that sometimes locates itself somewhere in your body.  But it’s YOUR experience, utterly unique to you.

Now! Let’s turn all of this around for a moment!

Let’s suppose that you have been given a choice of colours you can include in an amazing box of crayons … or in a box of watercolour paints.    Suppose you have the opportunity to  “COLOUR YOUR DAY”.  What colours would you take with you in your box of crayons?   Which watercolours would you add to your paintbox?

HOW WOULD YOU COLOUR YOUR DAY?
